External Description:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic nuclear radiology imaging and therapeutic treatment on pediatric patients.  Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies.  Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures to include the operation of radiation detection and measuring instrumentation, including stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma cameras and PET/CT.  Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Radiology Technology.

Minimum Experience: 2 years Pediatric Nuclear Medicine experience Preferred:  Experience in an acute care hospital setting

License, Registration or Certification Required:  CNMT and ARRT(R) or ARRT(CT) or NMTCB, and CPR

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  Ability to work under pressure. Able to be a team player; exhibit compassion for the pediatric patient/parents. Demonstrate competency and observance of sterile technique.
