External Description:

The Neurophysiologist Monitoring Technician per diem is under minimal supervision of the Ambulatory PCS manager and direct supervision from REEGs, assists in the performance of a variety of neurodiagnostic studies to include EEG, evoked potentials and specialized studies in the in -patient( including the EMU/ epilepsy monitoring unit) & out -patient setting. Provides support with duties designed to be flexible to meet the specific needs of the department and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Uses the EMU monitoring equipment to provide feedback to patient/ family and the REEG. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Consistently demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. The Neurodiagnostic Assistant does not perform procedures. Qualifications: High school graduate and one to two years working in a patient care environment. Pediatric experience preferred. License, Registration or Certification required: Current BLS certification. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: Demonstrated organizational skills. Familiar with basic computer knowledge -with emphasis on Word and Excel.
